A warm welcome to our International Guide - written especially with you in mind. The guide should contain all the information you feel is important before embarking on the adventure of your life! If you can't find the answer to your question, please email our advisory service or use our Ask a Question page.
Studying abroad is one of the most exciting things you can do. You will not only learn academically, but also culturally and socially.
All of these new experiences will transfer themselves into great life skills - no matter what subject you choose to study. International students are given a really warm reception not only at the University but also in the city of Dundee and across Scotland, which welcomes and celebrates diverse cultures.
We know that moving from your country, home, friends and family to university in another country is both an exciting and daunting experience for you. We are aware that the lead-up to coming to Scotland and your first few days in the university may feel a little bewildering, but don't worry, our orientation programme is designed to help settle any homesickness you have.
Don't forget your family and friends will be just as excited, but will also worry about you travelling so far from home, so make sure you give them a copy of your travel plans, your schedule and the address of your accommodation.
Talk to us via Skype, or telephone +44 (0) 1382 308051.
This is your opportunity to ask any questions you have about what it's like to live in Dundee and Scotland, and what studying is like at Abertay. I will also tell you about the excellent support services available during your studies, and any pre-arrival information that you need. My colleague Liz MacDougall will also be on hand to talk to you about our Abertay Language Centre and Language courses.
