Careers Service

At Abertay, we provide a wealth of opportunities and support to help our students plan and develop a successful career.

Career Guidance and Information Service

The Careers Service is here to support you with career advice during your studies and after you graduate.

We provide a professional career guidance and information service for students and graduates to help you make informed career choices. We work closely with employers and academic schools to support you by developing your skills to maximise your employability.

The Careers Service can support your career planning in a number of ways, including:

  • Developing your employability skills.

  • Identifying potential career options.

  • Helping you to find work experience.

  • Helping you to understand and demonstrate the skills needed to market yourself to employers.

We do this through face to face individual support with our professional advisors and group workshops.

One great example of our careers support is through the annual Principal’s Award.

Santander Employability Scheme

In collaboration with Santander Universities, Abertay is happy to offer our current students a range of paid short-term work projects with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the Santander Employability Scheme.

Opportunities are available on a flexible part-time or full-time basis, ranging from 2 to 3 weeks in duration. Ideal for when you want to fit in work experience along side your study commitments.

The Principal's Award

The Principal's Award is a short employability programme for our undergraduate and postgraduate students that recognises, supports and rewards work related skills and achievements.

This programme helps our students gain the skills they need to stand out in the jobs market.
