Clearing is now closed for 2020

Clearing is another opportunity to find the best course for you whether you've changed your mind about what and where you want to study, your results didn't go the way you'd hoped or you've just started to consider starting university this September.

Thousands of students secure a university place through Clearing every year so you're in good company. This year we will take the impact of the pandemic into account when offering places.

Got a question?

We're small, friendly and happy to help.

UCAS embargo period

Universities get early access to embargoed exam results to allow us to prepare and make decisions in time for their official publication date. It means during this period there are severe restrictions over any communication with you so do bear that in mind if you try to contact us through LiveChat or by telephone. You'll also be unable to apply for a place with us through Clearing even if you already have your results.

In 2020, UCAS embargo dates and times are:

From 6pm Monday 27 July to 9am Tuesday 4 August.

From 2pm Friday 7 August to 8am Thursday 13 August.

Have a plan

If you've already applied to university but are concerned that you may not get the results you need for your first choice, have a back-up plan. Think of alternative universities and courses you'd previously considered and check to see if they have clearing vacancies on UCAS or on their own Clearing web pages. Look at entry requirements on course web pages but keep in mind these can change during Clearing. Remember, you can only apply to us for a place when you have all your results and qualifications.

If you haven't already applied to university, start by browsing our courses available through Clearing. If you need help, contact our friendly Clearing team but you won't be able to apply for a place until you have your results. If you already have all your qualifications, because you sat them in a previous year, get a head start by applying for a Clearing place early. Contact us before the UCAS embargo period starts at 6pm 27 July.
