How much is the rent?

How do I pay the rent?

Rent for Lyon Street and Meadowside Halls is paid via the online payment system.

This can be paid in two ways:

  • OPTION A: Pay rent in full

    Pay the full amount within 14 days of receiving your email offer and lease.

  • OPTION B: Set up a monthly pre-payment plan

    Ask to set up a monthly payment plan via a debit/credit card recurring payment within 14 days of receiving your email offer and lease.

What bills are included in the rent?

Hot water, heating, lighting, portable appliance testing and insurance are all included in the cost of your rent. Internet access is also provided free of charge.

There is 24/7 security and the communal areas are also cleaned as part of the rent.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No, we do not take a deposit.  But you will have to make a prepayment of rent when you accept your room offer. This is rent, and you won't receive any money back at the end of your lease.

Because we don't ask for a deposit, any damages must be paid in full immediately.

 

Can my parent/carer pay my rent?

Yes anyone can pay the prepayment, set up a recurring card payment, or pay online in full on your behalf via this link. All they need is your full name, student ID and date of birth.

How much is the rent prepayment?

This depends on the halls you will be staying in and the length of time you will be staying with us.

The exact amount is in your Student Residences Agreement (the lease) which is in your OASIS account.

How much discount will I get if I pay my rent in full?

If you pay in full, you will get a 2% discount. The full rent must be paid within the 14 day lease acceptance period for the discount to apply.

 

When and how can I pay my initial rent prepayment?

The initial rent prepayment should be paid online here. You must pay within 14 days of getting your offer email to accept your room. 

How do I set up a recurring card payment?

The monthly recurring debit/credit card information must be set up via the link sent to you by the Finance Team.

Recurring monthly card payments will be taken on the 9th of each month, as per your lease. After the first prepayment is made, the rent needs to be paid from October up to and including May for 40-week leases and up to and including August for 51-week leases.

What date each month do I make recurring payments?

How do I pay for damages?

Because you don't pay a deposit, you pay for any damages immediately.  The Residences office will assess any damages and advise you of the amount and where to pay.
