New Students

Congratulations on gaining a place to study at Abertay. We're excited that you're joining us.

We're working hard behind the scenes on making changes to our buildings and operating systems for September. We'll update these pages with information for September 2020 entry as soon as we can. We will also send you regular updates by email.

Welcome from Nigel Seaton, Our Principal and Vice-Chancellor

I am very pleased that you are joining our University as we begin the new academic year. Starting university is a big step, as I remember very clearly from my own time as a student, though it was very many years ago.

I know you will find Abertay to be a friendly and supportive university, and my colleagues and I are here to help you make the transition to your life as a student.  And we will be with you every step of the way from here to graduation.

It all starts with Freshers’ Week, which is your opportunity to learn about how the University works, to pick up tips about studying and making the most of your time at Abertay, to learn about student societies, clubs and sports teams, and much more.  It’s also a chance to get to know the other new students, and to have some fun before the studying starts.

One thing I particularly enjoy about this time year is having a chance to talk to the new students, and I will be at all the Welcome Sessions for the academic programmes.  I look forward to seeing you then.
