How to access Abertay Connect
All current students, including both undergraduate and postgraduate students, can access Abertay Connect using their UAD username and password. Students can start using the system by visiting https://abertayconnect.abertay.ac.uk/student/home.html. If you are a graduate of Abertay, you will be eligible for a graduate account, visit https://abertayconnect.abertay.ac.uk/graduate/login.html to register and gain access.
How Abertay Connect is managed
The system is provided and hosted by Group GTI, a trusted partner that works with many other universities across the UK.
Abertay Connect and your personal information
To enable our students to sign in with their normal Abertay username and password, it is necessary for us to pre-populate the system with some personal information. The transfer of data also ensures that the system is only accessible to Abertay students and graduates. The transfer of data is done via a secure, encrypted feed from SITS, the University's student record system.
The data includes details such as name, student and swipe card number (for swipe card bookings at events), date of birth, course name, year of study, nationality, as well as contact information such as your email, address and telephone number, in accordance with the University Information Security Policy and System Access Control Policy.
Group GTI only has access to the system to investigate technical support issues. The University retains overall responsibility and control for all data within the database and Career Development Centre staff manage the system on a day-to-day basis by updating the appointments and events calendars, approving organisations and vacancies submitted to us.
Under our agreement with Group GTI, no confidential information will be made available to any third party.
If you have any objections to the transfer of your personal information to Group GTI’s servers then please let us know in writing so that we can remove your details from the data feed. Please also write to us at the address below if you have any complaints or questions relating to the use of your personal data on Abertay Connect, or if you wish to view any information held on you on the database.
