Greg Macbain

During his third year, Greg took advantage of the University’s Study Abroad programme which offers students the chance to study or work in another country.

He was motivated to participate in the programme as he wanted to develop life skills, experience different cultures, and gain new perspectives on his academic journey.

After researching several institutions, Greg decided to join IE University, a top international university in Spain with campuses in Madrid and Segovia. As well as the promise of great weather, Greg was attracted to IE because of its reputation for its marketing and business courses.

During his time abroad, Greg faced an unforeseen accident that resulted in a significant dental bill amounting to £2000. Thankfully, he was able to rely on the support of the university, which stepped in to help cover the expenses and ease the financial strain.

He said:

“Taking part in the Study Abroad programme was the best decision I made at university. It was a brilliant experience that allowed me to explore a new country and immerse myself in a different culture. If you have the chance, I’d definitely recommend studying abroad– it's an experience you won’t forget!"
