After more than 25 years building and managing mission-critical IT infrastructure, Ricardo is graduating from Abertay University with an MBA in Information Technology.
Ricardo studied through Westford Education Group, one of Abertay’s partner institutions, while continuing to work in a demanding leadership role within the financial technology sector.
A Technology Management Leader and IT Operations specialist, Ricardo currently serves as a Command Center Manager for one of the largest banks in the UAE. His role involves overseeing high-stakes IT operations and helping ensure the resilience of critical systems in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment.
Alongside his professional responsibilities, Ricardo chose to pursue an MBA in Information Technology to strengthen his strategic capabilities and build on his extensive technical experience. The programme provided a bridge between hands-on industry expertise and executive management, helping him connect operational leadership with wider questions around strategy, technology resilience and innovation.
Balancing a demanding leadership role with postgraduate study was a significant challenge, but Ricardo saw the MBA as an opportunity to sharpen his thinking and prepare for the next stage of his career. The experience has helped him apply advanced strategic frameworks to real-world technology environments, including next-generation AIOps and related technology resilience initiatives.
