Where to access urgent help when the Counselling Service is out-of-hours.

Urgent help

The Counselling Service is available Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm.

If you feel that you need an appointment as soon as possible, please email counselling@abertay.ac.uk.

Appointments are based on staff availability, and we'll try to see you within a few days. If it is an emergency, please see the resources below.

In a crisis, you can contact your GP for an appointment to discuss your needs, or phone NHS24 on 111 (free service).

  • Insights Counselling - a local counselling service that provides confidential, non-judgemental, 1-2-1 counselling by appointment. Phone 01382 305706 or visit their website.

  • Breathing Space Scotland - provides telephone counselling. Open: Weekdays - Mon-Thurs, 6pm-2am. Fri 6pm-Mon 2am. You can phone them on 0800 83 85 87.

  • Samaritans - provides a 24/7, 365 day a year telephone service. You can phone them on 116 123 (free service) or you can email: jo@samaritans.org.uk
