Abertay Rugby has been growing consistently for the past 3 seasons. 2015-16 saw the club rebuild after losing a number of senior players, consolidating their place in BUCS 2A before pushing for promotion in 2016- 17. In 2017/18 the club was unfortunate not to gain promotion but did see success winning the Conference Cup final. The men’s 1^st reached the cup final in 2018/19 for the 2^nd season in a row narrowly losing. The team have a high target of a league and cup double for 2019/20.

With the addition of a 2nd XV for the third year the men’s side are keen to develop further under the tutelage of a Rugby Development Officer with a heavy focus on player and coach development and some excellent community links. The women’s team have continued to grow under guidance from quality coaches and the club development officer.

2019/20 saw the ladies team enjoying their 2^nd season in BUCS, showing the continued growth of rugby here at Abertay.
