Under 18 Student Visa - Parental Consent Letter

Under 18 student visa: Parental Consent Letter

If you are under 18 years of age, one of the documents you need to supply is a Parental Consent Letter. You upload the letter to CAS Shield, where it is checked by our Admissions staff before being submitted as part of your student visa application.

The UKVI has a ‘documents you must provide’ page with all the details. Our suggested template is based the information they require.

You’ll also find out more in the guidance for universities, covering the documents we need to keep as part of the visa process. See point 2.25 in the Student Sponsor Guidance document from the UK Home Office.

Remember, this is only relevant if you are under 18.

Suggested format for under 18s Parental Consent Letter

We recommend you provide it in the following format, so everything is included. If you are a sole parent, then you only need to include one set of parent/guardian details.

You need to add all the details for your mother and father at the top, and add/amend everything in [Square Brackets].
