The University Preparation Programme is a free, week-long course that's specially designed to help you prepare and build confidence before joining Year 1 of an undergraduate degree course.
Studying at university is a fantastic yet challenging experience.
This free programme is designed to help you get the most from your time at Abertay by preparing you for the demands of your degree course. It'll help you familiarise yourself with the university by meeting academics, librarians, and the academic skills tutors, who can help and advise with all aspects of your studies.
You'll have a chance to get to know both the city of Dundee and, of course, other new students. The programme puts you in the best possible position to start your studies.
The UP Programme is intended for students joining an undergraduate course, usually starting at Year 1. You can apply if you have been made a conditional or an unconditional offer.
Registration for the 2018 programme will open in May.

The UP Programme is designed to help all new students settle in to university life, but especially:
The programme covers a whole range of subjects, from how to write coursework and use the library, to managing your money and who to ask for help.
You'll have plenty of opportunities to practice these skills, get feedback from our tutors, and to ask questions. At the end of the programme, you'll know exactly what your lecturers will expect of you, and how to meet those expectations.
There are no tests, but completing the tasks set as part of the programme means that it will be included on your Higher Education Achievement Record, which details all your non-academic activities at university, and allows future employers to gain a much fuller picture of your achievements as a student.
