Filter Drains

A trench filled with a media having a large void ratio allowing water storage. Good for small developments restricted by soil types. Suitable for small developments where soil type permits. One of the most common forms of SUDS system installed. Infiltration trenches are classed as type 3 SUDS since they can completely prevent discharge. However, a groundwater risk assessment is essential prior to installation.
