5 reasons to choose Law at Abertay

1. We get you practice-ready: We encourage you to develop your professional and employability skills outside the classroom through initiatives like the Mooting Society.

2. 100% student satisfaction: Our smaller class sizes compared to larger universities means our lecturers will know your name. You'll be able to ask questions and get feedback fast.

3. We're accredited: Studying with us means you're on a law degree that's accredited by two professional bodies: The Law Society of Scotland and the Faculty of Advocates.

4. We support you from all angles: Our peer-to-peer mentoring programme allows current students to learn confidentially from each other's challenges and successes.

5. Top 20 in the UK for teaching: That's according to The Guardian Good University Guide 2025.

What do our Law graduates say?

Our Law graduates will always be our strongest advocates, so check out what Constantin Bedrule, a Paralegal at Digby Brown Solicitors, had to say about his time studying Law at Abertay.

The four years I spent studying at Abertay have helped shape me into the person I am today. When I first came to Dundee I didn’t know anyone. Being part of a relatively small group of students has made my interactions with colleagues and lecturers more personal. I met my best friend at the end of my first ever lecture at the university. The lecturers were there to guide us every step of the way. By the end of my degree, I had built a strong network of contacts both within the university and outside of it.

Constantin was part of our LLB (Hons) Law class of 2017. Read his full profile here

Why Dundee?

Dundee is going through something of a cultural rebirth.

It was named by The Wall Street Journal as one of the world’s hottest destinations, helped greatly by the £80m V&A Dundee, the stunning design museum, which opened its doors in 2018.

Dundee is a little pot of gold at the end of the A92 - The Guardian

It’s an extremely friendly city, which is small enough to get from A to B by foot, but large enough to have great shopping and vibrant nightlife.

Dundee is a contemporary city full of energy and vision—it has one of the highest student population ratios in the UK—and it’s the perfect environment for a Law student to learn their trade.
