The event was really well organised, great fun and something I would highly recommend. It would be fantastic to see an Abertay team take part in a future Dundee KiltwalkBeth Thomas | Abertay University | International Officer (Americas)
Beth Thomas joined colleagues Linda McHugh, Matthew Crichton and Fin Hackwood from the International Recruitment and Partnerships Office in this year's Dundee Kiltwalk, raising funds for Maggie's, which supports people affected by cancer.
The Kiltwalk is a series of mass-participation walking events held across Scotland, where participants choose a charity and raise funds for it through routes of different lengths. All money raised goes directly to the chosen charity, with eligible donations receiving up to 25% extra through Gift Aid.

Beth joined four others for the walk and set an initial fundraising target of £100. Donations pushed the final total beyond £200, more than doubling the original goal.
By giving her time, mobilising her networks and taking part in one of Dundee’s major community fundraising events, Beth made a practical contribution to a local cause and helped raise awareness of the support Maggie’s provides.
Beth said:
It meant so much to me to be able to represent Abertay for a cause close to my heart. The day brought our team closer together and was a great workout that sped right by with plenty of people to chat to along the way.
Beth’s experience also offers an opportunity to encourage wider participation across the University. She suggested creating an Abertay team for a future Dundee Kiltwalk, supported by an early expression-of-interest process to help colleagues get involved.
