Planetary Explorers Base VR

The project is a VR visual environment experience, where the player can explore a stylised sci-fi spaceship designed interior. That encourages the player to discover the embedded narrative through 3D storytelling by attracting and guiding the player's attention from the use of bright, dark contrasting lights and colours. You can freely move around the environment with simple movement controls and have some interactions with small props that are easily identifiable for the player to know what is interactable by size and scale. You can observe and theorise what has been happening within this environment. (And you are more than welcome to make a mess of the environment as you wish!)

"Planetary Explorers Base VR " is a 2022 Digital Graduate Show project by Nick Thursby, a Computer Arts student at Abertay University.

Project Motivation

The technology of VR fascinated me with its potential of user experience when it first became accessible to the public in 2010. As the VR hardware became more affordable for everyone like myself, I always wanted do an environment project to explore and learn from this technology.
