Utilising AI and Player Modelling to Provide Tailored Gameplay

"Utilising AI and Player Modelling to Provide Tailored Gameplay" is a 2022 Digital Graduate Show project by Alexander Purvis, a Computer Game Applications Development student at Abertay University.

Synopsis

This game utilises AI and player modelling to provide tailored gameplay. By allowing the player to play the first half of the game and recording key actions, a player model is created. This is then passed to the AI which has been trained to recognise player archetypes based on many examples of previous test player models. The archetype that the AI determines for the current player will ascertain the gameplay in the second half of the game.

Utilising AI and Player Modelling to Provide Tailored Gameplay

This game captures the players actions to create a player model. This is then used by an AI that adapts the second half of the game to better suit the player.

Project Motivation

I have always had a passion for designing and programming gameplay and AI. I was excited to bring the two together for this project in the hope of discovering more on utilising AI to improve player experiences.
