Welcome Week

Monday 12 to Friday 16 January 2026

We're absolutely delighted you've chosen to join Abertay this January, and we can't wait to meet you in person!

Your Welcome Week is packed with opportunities to settle into university life, explore Dundee, and most importantly, connect with your new classmates and the Abertay community.

Getting Started - Monday 12th January

Your Abertay journey begins at 10:00am on Monday 12th January. Head to main reception where our friendly event helpers will be waiting to guide you to Room 1502 (it's the first room on your left as you walk in).

We'll kick things off with a warm Welcome to Abertay! session from 10:00-11:00, followed by your Programme Welcome from 11:00-13:00 where you'll break off into programme-specific talks and meet your programme leader. From 13:00 onwards, you'll complete your essential Registration & ID Checks (please don't miss this!), and once completed, the Students Association will be running a relaxed board game session so you can start making friends in a fun, informal setting.

Tuesday 13th January

Start your day with a breakfast with the Students Association (10:00-12:00). From 12:00-14:00, you'll join Campus Tours to discover all the important spots around Abertay. Then from 14:00-16:00, we'll help you master Navigating Abertay's Systems, so you feel confident using all our digital platforms.

Wednesday 14th January

Enjoy an International Social with activities and food from 14:00-16:00. Then test your knowledge (or pick up some new facts!) at our Scottish Quiz hosted by the Students Association from 16:00-18:00.

Thursday 15th January

At 13:00-14:00, you'll have the opportunity to Meet the Dean of International Education, Professor Mohamed Branine. From 14:00 onwards, we'll take you on a cultural adventure to the stunning McManus Art Galleries - a perfect introduction to Dundee's vibrant arts scene.

Friday 16th January

We'll round off the week with our International Student Welcome from 10:00-13:00. This will introduce you to all the student support services available at Abertay University. From 13:00 onwards, there's another opportunity for Registration & ID Checks (essential if you haven't completed this yet), alongside more board game sessions with the Students Association to round off the week.

See you on the 12th!

Mark your calendars, set your alarms, and get ready for an exciting week ahead. If you have any questions before you arrive, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Welcome to the Abertay family!

What else?
