A business and finance graduate who has already secured a lucrative place on the Barclays Wealth and Investment Management Graduate Scheme in London says he couldn’t have done it without the support of Abertay staff.
Morgan Dewar had landed a dream job in the capital before he had even finished his course.
The 27-year-old from Broughty Ferry said the guidance and training he received at the University’s Dundee Business School was “second to none”.
He added: “I’m in the fortunate position where I’ve already landed a position with Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in London.
“My lecturer jokes that my salary is going to be higher than his straight off the bat!
“It’s not something I was able to do alone. The confidence that Dundee Business School staff have instilled in me over the last few years is second to none."
Morgan was one of five Abertay students who travelled the world last summer thanks to placements from the Saltire Foundation - Scotland's world-class business leadership programme.
The students worked with leading companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Neogen USA, Barclays and Jabil Circuit in countries including India and the USA.
Morgan added: “The Saltire internship is also shown great support from the staff and we have had huge success in this space.
“It’s something I would certainly recommend as securing a position like this is incredibly difficult and it's an increasingly competitive marketplace for students trying to secure top graduate positions after university.”
