Expanding our international reach and fostering new pathways for teaching, research and innovation are central components of our Strategy 2025-30 and this important engagement in India has identified many new opportunities for collaboration. Sharing of expertise and taking a cross-border approach to education and R&D is hugely important to us as an institution and there are clear economic benefits to be realised for both the UK and India by continuing to build academic partnerships aligned to both countries wider approach to reciprocal trade. There’s strong strategic alignment between Abertay and our excellent partner colleges and universities in India and I very much look forward to seeing these relationships develop as they progress into the future.

It is wonderful to hear of the successful visit by the recent delegation from Abertay University. Collaborations between UK universities and leading Indian institutions are a testament to the enduring strength and depth of the UK-India educational partnership. These partnerships reflect not only the deep-rooted ties between our countries but also a shared commitment to excellence in education, research, and innovation. By connecting academia with industry, such collaborations play a vital role in preparing students for the opportunities and challenges of the future. It’s encouraging to see UK and Indian institutions working together to foster global skills and drive inclusive growth.

The visit by Abertay University was illuminating as it allowed both our Institutions to look for areas of collaboration not explored before in the areas of niche domains. Furthermore, the strengths of both institutions were reviewed to create a win-win partnership as a framework for any future cooperation between our organisations. The strength of Abertay University combined with the innovative out of the box thinking of GD Goenka University can pave the way for the success of the students for the future.
