Abertay records strong performance in National Student Survey 2025

University overall satisfaction score increases following survey of final-year students

Abertay has recorded another strong performance in the National Student Survey 2025, increasing the institution’s overall satisfaction ranking.

Results published by the Office for Students today revealed an overall satisfaction score of 82.6% marking an improvement on 2024’s result and reflecting a positive feedback across many key category areas, including teaching and student voice.

The ranking followed similar success in last month’s Complete University Guide 2026, which saw Abertay ranked top Scottish Modern university for student satisfaction, research intensity and facilities investment.

In addition to a strong score at institutional level, the National Student Survey 2025 also ranked Abertay’s Biomedical Science, Mental Health Nursing and Food Science programmes top in Scotland for overall satisfaction.

The survey also showed that Abertay ranked in the top five Scottish universities on the important themes of Assessment & Feedback and Academic Support.

Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Liz Bacon said:

This strong set of results is a tremendous achievement and highlights the ongoing dedication and excellence of colleagues across the University and the vibrancy of our student community. Listening to our students and responding to their needs is integral to our approach and we use NSS feedback as a basis to innovate and collaborate, ensuring that our student experience remains inclusive and caring and that the teaching and support on offer is of the very highest standard.
