On 19 October more than 100 teaching professionals from higher education institutions across Scotland attended the 2nd Teaching and Learning Enhancement Conference (TLE) organised by Abertay University.
The conference focus was an exploration of the challenges and opportunities for higher education teaching and learning in a digitised age. Head of Learning Technology and Media Production at Glasgow University, Kerr Gardiner, delivered the keynote speech and posed the question ‘are we fully engaged with learning technology and equipping our students for those jobs that haven’t yet been invented’.
The day-long event pulled together a stimulating agenda with 24 individual speakers using a variety of presentation formats including interactive workshops, short talks and quickfire ‘Pecha Kucha’ presentations.
Dr Alastair Robertson, Director of Teaching and Learning Enhancement at Abertay, said ‘TLE is a great opportunity to showcase new and exciting practice, it’s a great networking opportunity and forum to learn from others.’
