Keeping Abertay’s community of Alumni, Supporters and Friends in the know

Season's Greetings

As 2022 draws to a close, we'd like to extend our warm wishes for the Festive Season to all our Alumni, Supporters and Friends.

This year has seen many success stories of our alumni. We also welcomed another cohort of graduates into the alumni family. Congratulations to our most recent grads and to those who finally got to walk across the stage at the Caird Hall in the summer and last month, when we finally got back to in person graduation ceremonies.

Before switching off for the year, we encourage you to check out the latest happenings in Abertay's alumni community.

Winter Graduation 2022

Abertay's former Principal, Professor Nigel Seaton, and cyber expert, Mandy Haeburn-Little, joined students at the Caird Hall last month to celebrate the 2022 Winter Graduation.

A few weeks ago, we ran a short campaign on Twitter showcasing some fantastic images and information we've found whilst delving into the archives.

Who remembers nights out in the old Marketgait and Bell Street Student Union buildings? What about the 'Hands Off Abertay' campaign to stop the merger of Abertay with other nearby higher education institutions?

Graduate Success Programme and DUTE

2022 Abertay graduate, Monika, was referred to the Graduate Success Programme for support with graduate job searching and CV advice.

After an initial appointment discussing career goals, searching for job (relevant to her degree) and getting tips on improving her CV, Monika received further support with interviews. She was referred to Dundee University Temporary Employees (DUTE) and secured a temporary role with the University of Dundee. After demonstrating her wide range of skills and knowledge combined with experience gained from studying at Abertay and from her temporary roles, Monika has now secured a permanent position as a Cohort Clerical Officer at the University of Dundee.

Monika is a fantastic example of a talented Abertay graduate who has benefitted from engaging with the Graduate Success Programme and DUTE, which Abertay graduates are eligible to apply for.

Further information on DUTE can be found here.
