Abertay appoints new Registrar
Abertay University has appointed Susan Campbell as its new Registrar. Susan is currently Head of Student Administration at the University of Stirling.
She will take up her new post at Abertay in January 2014, working alongside the current Registrar, Dr Colin Fraser, to ensure a smooth handover when he retires later in the year.
Abertay’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Seaton, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Susan to the Abertay community. As Registrar, she will lead the delivery of Registry’s services and the development of student information systems and the admissions process. We are particularly fortunate that she will be able to work alongside Colin for a while, giving us the advantage of a smooth transition.”
Susan graduated with a BA in Marketing and Administration from the University of Strathclyde, and went on to complete a Master of Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University.
She began her career working for the Royal Mail, and moved into higher education administration in 1990. Susan has held various posts at the University of Stirling, including Head of Student Programmes, before her current role there.
As Head of Student Administration at Stirling, she is responsible for leading a multi-functional registry team managing the University’s Student Administration, and involved in the development of academic policy and regulation. She has also co-directed an institutional programme aimed at enhancing services to students, applicants and staff.
