SQA results are released on Tuesday 4 August 2026. The A-level results are released on Thursday 13 August. If you hold a conditional offer, these are the days your place gets confirmed.
Your offer becomes unconditional. You'll see this updated in your UCAS Hub and we'll send you a confirmation email. You don't need to do anything except celebrate. Your next step is online enrolment, which we'll email you about shortly after.
Please don't panic. We review every application individually on results day. We look at your full profile, not just your grades. In many cases, we may still be able to confirm your place.
Keep an eye on your email and UCAS Hub on results day. If we're not able to confirm your place on your original course, we'll discuss alternative options with you, which may include a different course at Abertay or entry through Clearing.
If you end up in Clearing, we're here to help. Visit our Clearing page from 2 July 2026 for available courses and how to apply.
Once your place is confirmed, you'll receive an email with instructions for online enrolment. This is a straightforward process that takes around 20-30 minutes and includes:
Confirming your personal details
Uploading a photo for your student ID card
Agreeing to the student terms and conditions
Selecting your course modules (where applicable)
Setting up your Abertay IT account
You'll also need to collect your student ID card when you arrive on campus. Details of when and where to do this will be included in your welcome emails.
Freshers' Week at Abertay runs in the week before teaching starts. It's designed to help you settle in, find your way around and meet people. It's for everyone, whether you're living in halls, at home or commuting.
Your first week will typically include:
Welcome talks and campus orientation
Course inductions and meetings with your academic tutors
Library and IT inductions
Freshers' Fair with clubs, societies and the Students' Association
Social events and activities
Full details of Freshers' Week events will be published in the summer. We'll email you with everything you need to know.
Starting university is a big step and it's completely normal to feel nervous. We have support in place from the moment you arrive:
Student Services: Advice on funding, wellbeing, disability support, counselling and more.
Students' Association: Run by students for students. They organise events, represent your interests, and run clubs and societies.
You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive. That's what the first few weeks are for.
