Supported by the Tay Cities Partnership, Data Skills for Work at The Data Lab is offering eligible training and education providers funding to deliver data skills training for learners as delivered by Dundee Business School at Abertay University.
This is an intermediate to advanced course for someone who is a data professional. These are individuals whose job role primarily involves using data with specialist skills, who are looking to develop their skills further, including having the ability to communicate insights and engage effectively with the data they regularly work with.
It begins on Monday 18th August and will run every Monday from 5.30pm-7.30pm for 7 weeks, delivered at Dundee Business School by Dr Emad Otri and Dr Emilee Simmons.
Commitment per week:
1-hour of independent preparation time before each workshop
2-hours in a workshop - with hands-on practice, plus feedback from lecturers and peers
1-hour of independent reflection time after each workshop to hone your skills
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this module the learner should be able to:
Apply suitable pre-processing and analysis techniques to datasets.
Develop and evaluate statistical and machine learning models to develop insights for business solutions.
Effectively communicate complex insights for use in decision-making to a wide range of audiences using a variety of mediums.
