We are excited to announce that Abertay University is offering learners in Tayside the opportunity to participate in The Data Lab Data Skills for Work programme, designed to support the development of key data and digital skills and prepare participants for the changing world of work.
Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government through DigiTay, the Tay Cities Region Deal Digital Skills Project, we are thrilled to be working with The Data Lab on this excellent opportunity for eligible learners to participate in the fantastic Data Skills for Work skills building programme.
Dundee Business School at Abertay University is offering two professional development courses to enhance data skills:
Data for Decision Making: Beginners
Data for Decision Making: Data Professionals
Each course is offering 10 free places for those who meet the eligibility criteria: live or work in the Tay Cities Region (Angus, Dundee, North Fife & Perth).
Please note: Priority is given to women and underrepresented groups.
What you will learn:
Being able to critically analyse data
Effectively interpret data and how it applies to decision-making
How to communicate complex data and ideas to support multiple stakeholders
Which course is right for me?
Beginners: If you are a Data Worker, you will find this course beneficial. Data workers are people who use basic analysis tools to answer questions about organisational data and use this to support decision making, but their primary job role is not in data.
Data Professionals: If you are a Data Professional you’ll find the more advanced course right for you. These are individuals whose primary job role involves using data with specialist skills, who have an ability to communicate insights and engage effectively with data.
For those who are interested in/or use basic analysis tools to answer questions about organisational data and use this to support decision making.
