Recruitment of External Members of the Audit & Risk Committee

We are seeking two individuals to join the University's Audit & Risk Committee as external members.

The Audit & Risk Committee reports to the Abertay University Court. Its primary responsibilities are to assist Court in ensuring that the University’s financial management, risk management and corporate governance procedures are both robust and effective. The University Court is the Governing Body of the University, and its powers are set out in the University’s constitutional document - 'The Abertay University (Scotland) Order of Council 2019'.

The University Court is responsible for the effective governance of the institution and agrees the strategic plan and budgets. Further information about the University Court is available in the Court Documents section.

The Role

We are looking to recruit outstanding individuals with a mixture of skills to join the University's Audit & Risk Committee as external members. Appointment to the Committee will offer successful candidates an opportunity to contribute to the effective governance of a modern, pioneering and ambitious Scottish higher education institution based in Dundee.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Audit and financial control
Corporate governance issues
Risk management
Strategic finance

A professional qualification is not a prerequisite but would be an advantage.

Appointment Process

Interviews
