It was an incredibly long and tiring day, but very rewarding and I am grateful for the opportunity to be involved in such a meaningful event.
Eunice Monaghan | Abertay University | Senior Admissions Compliance Officer

Eunice Monaghan, Senior Admissions Compliance Officer, dedicated her Staff Volunteering Day to supporting Parish Nursing Dundee’s Christmas lunch at the Steeple Church.

Eunice played an important role in serving the meals cooked by Chef Dean Banks and his team of four, who worked tirelessly to prepare the entire Christmas feast. Throughout the day, Eunice along with other volunteers, served a total of 190 lunches. Her efforts were crucial in making the event a memorable occasion for all involved.

Eunice said:

The best bit of the day was getting to sit, chat, and eat with people who came in for the lunch. Hearing their stories made it all worthwhile, then it was time to tackle the mountain of dishes!

Parish Nursing Dundee’s Christmas lunch is just one part of their extensive outreach efforts. Beyond the festive event, the organisation provides vital services, including NHS dental care twice a week, to individuals in the city facing homelessness or battling addiction issues. The initiative, which has been running for many years, continues to offer crucial support to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
