This project adds a new section of the map to Rain World - a game about surviving and exploring within a dangerous ecosystem. The new area is called the Ashen Bow, and is characterised by its snow-covered fields, satellite dishes, and red flora. Players can explore this frost-covered region to cross between other areas of the world or search for extra pieces of story. This project was created as a self-reflective journey to better understand why communities create and where they gain their inspirations from.
I wanted to make a project that had the idea of "community" at its core. To me, communities are what make games so great - sharing ideas, strategies, videos, custom created content - all the awesome stuff that gets people talking and enjoying the game beyond playing it. I made this project because I loved the idea of contributing my own efforts to expand upon a game I love, and get to share something I worked on with other people who have a similar passion for the game's world. Doing this while experiencing and being inspired by what others are making within the community just felt really special to me.
Likely breaking into the industry as a game/level designer, or maybe even 2D UI artist! I'd love to work on something that's considered a "classic" or a "cult classic". I love games that leave players thinking about what they played afterwards, so working on a project like that would be amazing!
