What has been a highlight of your time at Abertay?

My biggest highlight so far has been participating in the grad show last year as a 3rd year student with my team from the group project. A couple of the best projects were chosen for the first time ever from the 3rd year games, and my team was lucky enough to be one of them. We were all incredibly proud of the game we produced and incredibly fortunate to be able to show it off on this platform.

What motivated you to develop/create this project?

Growing up, I played a lot of different games in various styles, and one thing always stuck with me - the characters. The way they looked, how they were all unique and felt like they really belonged in their world. Since then, I've always felt a sense of nostalgia whenever I look at those characters, and now I want to give that to someone else. I want them to play a game with my characters in it and really notice them. I want them to see those characters later in life and remember what they felt when they played that game, and feel that same nostalgia. This project is a step toward that goal.

What are your hopes and future ambitions for after graduation?

I hope to develop my portfolio further and find work as a 3D stylised character artist in a studio that treats their employees well, and work on characters that inspire myself and others. I want to make something that a kid somewhere will look at and think "I wanna make that too".
