"Adapting 'The Way of Kings'" is a 2022 Digital Graduate Show project by Rebecca Macleod, a Computer Arts student at Abertay University.

Synopsis

The project explores immersion and believability in adapted media through character and prop design. It also examines common threads linking successful and impactful design, pertaining to themes of identity, and visual consistency. Through contextual research, visual iteration and analysis of popular adaptations, this creation process for this project looks to examine the effect that adaptations have on consumer expectations for the genre, as well as how fantasy media uses historical and cultural influences to create believability in design.
