Synopsis
This project is based on the concept of performance, creating personas and how character design helps to achieve this. The idea of constructing a theatrical mask through behaviour and character design. I want to see how a character can change and transform to meet different themes and concepts when performing. To achieve this, the project will involve designing a 2D character and multiple on-stage persona designs. The main inspirations for this project are fashion, music, costume design, performances and music videos from artists I love.
What motivated you to develop/create this project?
This project is heavily inspired by onstage performances and music videos of artists I love along with costume and character design. I've always been fascinated by how performers on stage change completely compared to how they act off stage. This is what motivated me to attempt this myself through a character design project.
What has been a highlight of your time at Abertay?
My highlight at Abertay was getting to work with other artists and students from the other games courses on group projects and game jams. It was very fun to be able to work and learn in a group setting in labs.
What are your hopes and future ambitions for after graduation?
I hope to be able to continue creating fun projects to help me learn and improve the skills I've developed whilst at Abertay.
