Synopsis
TEMPEST is an artbook that delves into the lives, cultures and lore of diverse characters and races within a richly imagined world. This project focuses on 2D concept art, encompassing character, environment and prop design, allowing for deep exploration and creative experimentation to establish strong visual identities. The artbook combines intricate visuals with narrative elements, offering a comprehensive view of the world and its inhabitants while embracing a distinct dark fantasy aesthetic. Costume design plays a crucial role, influenced by factors such as environment, culture, class distinctions and personal style.
What motivated you to develop/create this project?
The world in which TEMPEST is set has been around for almost a decade, having written stories from the characters perspectives since I started secondary school it has always had a special place in my heart, and I wanted to share that passion with others through visual design and art.
What has been a highlight of your time at Abertay?
It would have to be the people, both the friends I've had since first year and the lecturers who have guided the journey, it's been great to meet so many wonderful people.
What are your hopes and future ambitions for after graduation?
Creation, I would like to keep creating and producing artwork, writing stories in fantastical worlds and sharing my imagination to create new ideas.
