A Tool For Procedural Cities

This project uses complex systems to generate a city. Stochastic L-systems, parcel division algorithms and shape grammars are all used in the generation of the city. Users can use a wide range of parameters to manipulate the generation to their liking. The effectiveness and realism of the final created city and its parameters are analysed and changed to help further generations.

What motivated you to develop/create this project?

Got really interested in procedural generation when developing my DES310 project. However had too little time to explore the concept fully. I like that it's creative and satisfying when the final city is created.

What has been a highlight of your time at Abertay?

Collaborating and growing with my peers.

What are your hopes and future ambitions for after graduation?

To work in the games industry.
