Synopsis
The practical focus of my project is to create a framework that producers can use to prevent negative post release or recover from it. My framework will explore the current state of industry practice and will draw in recovery strategies from other industries such as manufacturing and IT. Using this, I outline processes that producers can use such as team management, stakeholder management and strategies for risk mitigation.
What motivated you to develop/create this project?
I was motivated to explore this project in order to find out what went into games post-release strategies. I was inspired by games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky, particularly how they managed to go on to both win 'best ongoing' at the game awards after having industry famous failed releases.
What has been a highlight of your time at Abertay?
The highlight of my time at Abertay is having the opportunity to participate in Dare Academy 2023 - it was amazing having time to work on a project I was extremely passionate about and get to interact with industry mentors to help further its development. Going down to EGX was a highlight, especially seeing the public playing our game.
What are your hopes and future ambitions for after graduation?
After graduation I'm hoping to go into a entry level production role in games.
