Procedural Content Generation in Train Simulation Games

Synopsis

Traditionally, the aim of train simulation games has been to provide an accurate and true-to-life recreation of a real-life environment. While this appeals to many, this project looks at how procedural generation can be applied to create infinite fictional environments for such games while still providing an engaging and immersive experience. This involves developing an interactive prototype application in Unreal Engine 5 showcasing a landscape generated at runtime with a functional and realistic track including structures like tunnels and bridges for the player to traverse.
