Protocol: Provenance is a project focused around exploring how procedural tools developed in Houdini and utilised in Unreal Engine can assist the development and artistic exploration of a small scale cinematic environment production.

What motivated you to develop/create this project?

In my year abroad at Breda, I attended EPC (Everything Procedural Conference) 2024 and saw the potential of Houdini and procedural workflows. I believe it will be invaluable to have experience in working in or alongside procedural systems, especially within Houdini. I've always favoured Cinematic work and wanted to gather the tools and skills needed to create my own with this project.

What has been a highlight of your time at Abertay?

2nd year game project.

What are your hopes and future ambitions for after graduation?

To find a place within the industry. Preferably working on virtual cinematic productions of some kind.
