Synopsis
The project's creative outcome will be presented in the form of an unsolved case file murder mystery game that players can work together (or alone) to complete. The project will contain mixed-media such as digital and physical evidence which players can use to get clues, confirmations and access to new evidence. The project will focus on increasing and maximising the effect mixed media and phygital content has on player immersion through aspects such as roleplaying and player engagement.
What motivated you to develop/create this project?
I wanted to challenge myself with designing a mixed-media game as I have not done that before. I also wanted to gain a better understanding of how murder mystery narratives and games are written and designed as it has always intrigued me.
What has been a highlight of your time at Abertay?
Taking part in the 2024 Dare Academy. I got the chance to work with a team of dedicated students and showcase the game we created at EGX in London.
What are your hopes and future ambitions for after graduation?
After designing a murder mystery game I've discovered an interest in crime investigations and would like to pursue a career in Policing. Other than that I'm not one hundred percent certain yet.
