Food, Nutrition and Health
Virtual Applicant Day

From campus and city tours to information about your degree programme, it's the next best thing to being here

Welcome to Applicant Day

Watch the video and meet our student Shanna who'll welcome you and set the scene for your virtual visit.

Programme Information

Watch the video and meet Athina Tziboula-Clark, a senior lecturer on BSc (Hons) Food, Nutrition and Health programme.

She talks about the ways in which you investigate how food is used as a means of nutrition and bettering the health of people, including how food and nutrition affects a range of metabolic diseases.

Athina emphasises the hands-on approach to the programme: practical lab work, such as creating new food products, plays a very important role.

Hear about the 10-week work placement module in Year 3. This gives you the opportunity to spend time working (and networking) in a field aligned with your career aspirations. Many students have landed jobs with their placement hosts after graduation.

This degree provides the foundation for you to pursue a career as a Home Economics teacher.

Next Steps

The coronavirus situation is causing a lot of uncertainty but universities are still working to a September start date. Of course we'll update you as guidance becomes available. Also, bear in mind that when you accept our offer, you can still make a decision to defer (start September 2021 instead) up to August.

The next step is to accept (or decline) your offer. Check the UCAS site for your acceptance deadline.

Once you accept our offer, we will email you about start dates, accommodation, registration and so on.

For more information about the application registration process at Abertay, please see our seven steps.

Ask a Question

One of the best things about being at an Applicant Day is being able to ask questions.

We want you to get all the information you need. Whether you'd like to know more about the course(s) you’ve applied for, what it’s like to live in Dundee or anything else. Use the form to ask us a question and we'll get back to you with an answer.
