The University of Granada is a public university with a high quality of teaching and research that boasts of almost 500 years of history. Over 4800 students enrol at the university every year; around 13% of which are international students. The university has a Gold Star award-winning Erasmus programme.

The city of Granada offers many cultural opportunities including the culinary kind. Granada is known for its tapas and is considered the cheapest city in Spain - and Europe - to live for students. The city is located close to Sierra Nevada, which has an excellent ski resort and stunning scenery. It is also a short trip from the beautiful Mediterranean coast. Granada is well known for The Alhambra, a Moorish citadel and palace. It is a renowned building of the Andalusian Islamic historical legacy and is just one part of what makes Granada a popular tourist destination.
