Abertay University has been welcoming students from India for many years.  Dundee has close  historic links to India through trade and, in particular, the textile industry going back to the 1800s.

We are a small future-focused state university with a world-renowned reputation for our specialist courses, including Ethical Hacking and Computer Games.

Abertay offers a wide range of undergraduate, masters and doctoral programmes. Our degrees are very industry-focused, so that you get an in-depth knowledge of the area you want to pursue for your career.

Our campus is a mixture of traditional architecture and cutting-edge new facilities.

Scottish bachelor degrees with honours are normally four years in length. Bachelor degrees start in September of each year.

Advanced entry – it may be possible to join an undergraduate degree in year 2 or 3 if you have studied very similar subjects at your home university and would like to have an international experience. Please contact us for more information about your particular case.

UK masters degrees are usually 12 months long so you can save a year compared to many countries.

You normally need to have the equivalent of a UK honours degree usually a 4 year degree from a recognised university.  Except for a few courses you will normally need to have studied a subject relevant to the Masters you are applying for. Each course page gives you information about this.

Grades expected depend on the course. It will say 2:1 (upper second) or 2:2 (lower second).  You can check the equivalents here:

Bachelor Programmes

We ask for good Indian Senior School (Year 12) exam results  The specific subjects we ask for are listed on each degree page. If it says national 5/GCSE/Standard grade it means that you need to have achieved a good grade in that subject in 10th which is at the same level. If it ass for eg maths at higher or A-level you would need a good grade in that subject in 12th.

The Indian year 12 percentages below show you what you need to get. For example, for a course that requires AABB at Higher you would need a 70% in year 12.

Programme Percentage
AABB Programme 70%
ABBB Programme 65%
BBBB Programme 60%

We also accept students who complete a specialist diploma after 10th instead of continuing to 12th provided the institution and qualification is recognised and you achieve a good grade.

For some subjects such as Computer Arts or MProf Game Development we usually ask for a link to your portfolio.
