Pauline Mack - BSc (Hons) Psychology 2016

Pauline will graduate from Abertay in July 2016 with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology.  When not on the volleyball court, she made time to chair the Psychology Society and drive the 'broomwagon' in this year's Tour de Tay.  Pauline is a recipient of the Lothian Family Award.

Why Abertay?

I considered different universities within the area, but what really helped me to make my decision was having a personal tour as part of the Abertay Open Day.  I liked that it was small and that people seemed to know each other.  I got the sense that due to its size, students had meaningful relationships with staff and other students - something that has certainly proved to be the case with time.

Course highlights?

One of the highlights of my time at Abertay has been working on the Tapology project with Dr Ken Scott-Brown.  It's a fascinating project which looks at whether games could be used to alleviate eyesight issues amongst the elderly.   I had the opportunity to go to events such as the British Science Festival  while working on the project.

After graduation?

Having really enjoyed the opportunity to explore whether games could be used to alleviate eyesight conditions, I have developed a strong interest in computer games.  I'm considering doing the MProf in Games Development at Abertay.
