I am currently Head of the Division of Natural and Built Environment in the School of Science, Engineering and Technology and Chair of Sustainable Development.   My research and teaching interests are in the fields of Sustainable Development, Sustainability Decision Support Systems and Project and Asset Management. I am co-director of the Urban Water Technology Centre  and co-leader of the interdisciplinary Sustainability Assessment, Visualisation and Enhancement (SAVE) research group which spans Schools in the University. I teach on a range of undergraduate and post-graduate courses.

I am a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Buider and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Chartered Institute of Building.

Undergraduate Programmes

Construction management, project management, project management techniques.

Postgraduate Programmes

Project and asset management, environmental decision making.

My research interests are in the field of Sustainable Development, in particular in the integration of decision process mapping, decision analysis, and stakeholder engagement and communications in sustainable decision making.  I jointly lead a  group of who are developing and applying a Sustainability Assessment, Visualisation and Enhancement (SAVE) concept which spans Schools in the University.  The work is funded by a range of clients including Local Authorities, Scottish Enterprise and the UK Water Companies.
