The LLB Law course is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland and enables graduates, on successful completion of postgraduate training, to become solicitors. The course also offers a thorough grounding in legal issues for those seeking careers in other areas, such as private business, the media or politics.
Abertay has a number of partner universities in other EU countries, and law students will have the option of spending one or two semesters studying abroad. We currently have partner institutions in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Finland.
Law courses at Abertay offer many exciting and varied career opportunities. After a period of postgraduate professional training, graduates may be admitted to practice as solicitors or advocates.
Abertay law graduates may also pursue careers in business and commerce, the civil service, local government, or the police force. Abertay is rated the best modern university in Scotland for research in law in the UK Research Assessment Exercise 2008, so this course also opens up a range of postgraduate study options.
