The Division of Business and Management is one of three main units within the Dundee Business School.
The Division has an interdisciplinary research profile spanning three primary subject areas human resource management, enterprise and entrepreneurship, and marketing. It also extends to cognate areas. The work of the Division primarily relates to the University's Society research theme, but many management topics cross into other areas such as Creative Industries and the Environment.
Human resource management research explores graduate recruitment and labour market trends in a comparative context; talent management, managing diversity and flexible working practices; environmental awareness in the workplace; job creation and social inclusion; and employees' response to organisational change, psychological contract and the work lives of foreign-born employees within academia.
Enterprise and Entrepreneurship research explores innovation and enterprise; authentic leadership, enterprise education, sustainability and corporate entrepreneurship; entrepreneurial learning, gamification, entrepreneurial engagement through social media, entrepreneurship in cosmopolitan cities, senior citizens as entrepreneurs, internationalisation and value creation in organisations, with an emphasis on the enterprise renewal approaches such supply chain and total quality management (TQM); public-private partnership management in transitional nations; corporate governance; the impact of public private partnerships on social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Marketing research includes the study of place branding, destination attributes and post travel intentions; marketing technology, such as search engine optimisation, CRM, and the impact of technology on traditional principles of marketing and customer satisfaction; culture and market place transformation, digital transformation, on-line advertisement, on line brand community, with the application of digital technology in all aspects of human society; tourism, entrepreneurship and hospitality.
