Help us transform a young person's life

Here at Abertay University talent knows no bounds

We understand how much a degree can really transform a life. But we need your help to do it.

Why donate to Abertay?

Nearly half of our students are first-generation university entrants, and over a quarter come from a disadvantaged background.  Please help us encourage more people like them to come to Abertay University, so they can change their lives for the better.

We help every one of our students realise their full potential, regardless of their background – but we need your support.

Your contributions really do make a difference. So please donate today.

Who are you helping?

Stuart Shaw had to balance studying with caring responsibilities. He graduated with an MSc International Human Resource Management and went on to to study a postgraduate course.

'The additional support lowered the barriers to me studying at postgraduate level and helped me to attain the quality results that I felt I was capable of... I had no idea that I would leave with a 1st Class Honours Degree, a Distinction in my Masters, and four academic prizes.'

'Truly a modern university'

In September 2020, The Sunday Times named us UK University of the Year for Teaching Quality and wrote:

‘Abertay (is) the most socially inclusive university in Scotland. Truly, a modern university.’

And other institutions have recognised our academic talents too:

  • Guardian University Guide 2021 UK Top 10  for Student Satisfaction with Teaching, Course and Feedback.
  • National Student Survey 2020 UK Top 10 for Student Satisfaction.
  • Princeton Review 2021 best in Europe for Video Games Education for the 7th year in a row.

Transforming Lives

We have a real affinity with students from disadvantaged backgrounds. But don’t take our word for it.

Cheryl Torano, a care-experienced single mother of two, joined our Ethical Hacking degree from college. She went on to get her dream job as a Cybersecurity Engineer at Brightsolid, here in her home city of Dundee.

Moving to Abertay from my college course felt like a completely natural progression and it really couldn’t have been easier…coming through college and university has been totally life changing for me and my kids.
