I'm now a Sports Reporter for the world's largest motorcycling magazine. I travel non-stop - the USA, Japan, Spain, Italy, China and the Netherlands so far - reporting on motorbike racing like MotoGP and the Isle of Man TT.
It has been five years now since I left Dundee, but heading across the Tay Bridge on the train still feels like going home. I made my best friends at Abertay. Dundee is the perfect student town, and if I could, I'd go back to living there in a flash! There's a community feel to Abertay, where lecturers know your name and you recognise most of the faces you see on campus, which adds so much to the teaching and learning experience there - and is something that just doesn't exist on bigger campuses.

In reality, my degree might not look that important, seeing as I did a forensics degree and ended up in journalism. But it gave me the skills I needed - research, writing, teamwork, stats - that helped get me to where I am. My time at Abertay helped me get the job of my dreams, not only through my degree but through my extracurricular activities. Getting involved with sports teams, the Students' Association, and clubs and societies made me employable across a huge variety of fields, not only in science.
