Science in the cinema - Public Lecture 1
The world is waking up to the devastating effects we're having on ocean life through plastic pollution. But there's also pollution that we can't see. Marine biologist and physiologist, Dr Kimberley Bennett, will talk about the harm done by different types of pollutants: from the plastic we can see to the persistent chemicals and pharmaceuticals that we can't. After the doom and gloom, she'll look at the positive steps we can take to make the oceans cleaner, healthier and safer for humans and wildlife alike.
Kimberley's Lecture will last for approximately an hour and will be followed by a free screening of the topical film 'Trashed'.
