Every October our civil engineering work placement providers are invited to Abertay to take part in an event known as ‘Market Street’. In the past, this has included Balfour Beatty, Transport Scotland, SWECO, BEAR Scotland, and Waterman Group.
At this event, our students have the opportunity to network with each of the organisations and get a sense of the company they’d like to complete their work placement with.
There is also a series of short talks about the engineering sector and a networking lunch.
This year, we’d like to invite staff representatives from each of the local schools to join us, as well as any students who are interested in or thinking about an engineering career. We hope this event will be of use to you in many ways: –
|10am - 10:30am||Welcome||Tea, coffee, biscuits and a welcome presentation from David Blackwood and Cornelia Doerich-Stavridis|
|10:30am - 11am||Tour of Abertay||Tour of University from engineering staff and 4th year students.|
|11am - 12pm||Market Street Stalls||Placement providers showcase their work placement opportunities to 3rd year Civil Engineering students and school representatives.|
|12pm - 1pm||Lunch||3rd year students, placement providers, school representatives and staff from the BEngMEng Civil Engineering programme can network over some lunch.|
